Track return filing status

AgniDesk guide · Returns & filings boards · Updated 27 September 2026

View filing status by customer and period across GST, income tax, TDS, EPF, ESI and other services.

How the GST board works

Open Returns & filings › GST. Each active customer with the GST service is a row, sorted by customer ID. The default view, GST workbook (1 + 3B), shows one month at a time: the customer's portal login, last month's GSTR-1 and 3B for reference, and this month's GSTR-1 and 3B to update.

Use the Return dropdown to see a single return across the whole financial year — GSTR-3B (monthly), GSTR-1 (monthly), GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B (quarterly · QRMP), CMP-08, GSTR-4, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C, the GST annual workbook (9 + 9C), PMT-06, IFF, GSTR-7, GSTR-8 and ITC-04. Move between years with the arrows.

Customers appear on the boards that match their GST filing cadence: monthly filers on the monthly boards, QRMP customers on the quarterly boards (and PMT-06 / IFF), and composition dealers on CMP-08 and GSTR-4. A customer with no cadence recorded appears on both monthly and quarterly boards.

Statuses and what they mean

Click a cell and choose its status:

M-Filled
Filed for the month. Counts as filed and records today as the filed date.
Q-Filled
Filed for the quarter (QRMP). Counts as filed.
Pay Pending
Return ready, tax payment awaited.
Pay Informed
Customer told what to pay.
Pay Paid
Tax paid, return still to file.
OTP Pending
Waiting for the customer's OTP to file.
Inv Pending
Waiting for the customer's invoices or data.
Nil Mark
A nil return to file — not yet filed.
Exempt
Not required for this customer and period; settles the cell.

Only M-Filled, Q-Filled or Filed count as filed. Every other status — including Nil Mark — keeps the cell flagged until the return is actually filed. Choose Clear to take a mark off a cell; a cell that already holds an ARN, fees or remarks cannot be cleared, so change its status instead.

Due dates and overdue returns

Each cell knows its due date. A cell due within a week gets an amber ring and one past its due date a red ring; hover to see the date. Filed and exempt cells show nothing.

Default dates follow the law — for example GSTR-1 on the 11th (13th for QRMP), GSTR-3B on the 20th (22nd or 24th for QRMP depending on the state), CMP-08 on the 18th after the quarter and GSTR-9 / 9C on 31 December. When the government extends a date, record it once in Masters & data › Due-date master under One-off extensions (admins), and every board, tracker card and reminder follows.

Record the ARN and filed date

  1. Press Details on the customer's row.
  2. Under the period and return, enter Filed on and the ARN.
  3. Press Save.

When you mark a return filed, a popup offers to open or create the invoice for the return, prepares a WhatsApp message to the customer, and tells you whether the “return filed” email will go out. Nothing is sent unless you press the button.

Bulk update many customers at once

  1. Search or filter the board down to the customers you want.
  2. Press Bulk update and choose the return, period and status — for example Nil Mark for this month.
  3. Leave “only where nothing is marked yet” ticked so cells you have already updated are skipped.
  4. Press Apply and confirm.

AgniDesk reports how many were updated, left as they were, or could not be changed, and every change is logged. Up to 500 customers can be updated at a time.

Filter, search and export

  • Search by customer ID, trade name or login.
  • Filter by work — Not started, Still owed, Overdue, Due within a week — or by a status.
  • Export sends the board as you see it (period, returns, filter and search) to Excel.

Other return boards

Income tax
IT workbook, the annual income-tax return and advance-tax instalments; the ITR due date follows the form and whether the return is audited. Links to the ITR return register.
TDS / TCS
24Q, 26Q, 27Q and 27EQ, TDS challans and Form 16 / 16A.
EPF and ESI
Monthly ECR and ESI contributions (due on the 15th), plus the ESI / EPF workbook.
Professional tax, LWF, Labour-law returns, ROC / MCA
Ready-made services you switch on with Set up. Dates can be adjusted in the due-date master for your state.

Who can use it

People see the boards for the services they work on, and only the customers they are allowed to see. Changing a cell or bulk-updating needs permission to update filings; exporting needs export permission. Portal passwords on the workbook are shown only after a timed reveal, and every reveal is logged.

Common questions

How can I see the GST filing status of all my clients in one place?

Open the GST board. Each client is a row and each period a column, with GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B side by side in the monthly workbook view. Filter by Overdue or Still owed to see what is pending.

Why is a QRMP client missing from the monthly GSTR-1 board?

The boards follow each client's GST filing cadence. QRMP clients appear on the quarterly GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B boards, and on PMT-06 and IFF.

Does Nil Mark count as filed?

No. Nil Mark means a nil return is due. The cell stays flagged until you mark it M-Filled or Q-Filled.

Can I mark nil returns for many clients at once?

Yes. Filter the board, press Bulk update, choose Nil Mark and apply — cells already marked are skipped by default. Up to 500 clients at a time.

The government extended a GST due date. How do I update it?

Add a one-off extension in the due-date master. The boards, tracker and reminders all use the new date.

Can I export the GST board to Excel?

Yes. Export downloads the board as shown — the period, returns, filter and search you have applied.

Does marking a return filed create an invoice?

If Auto invoice on filing is switched on in Invoices and the return has a fee, a draft invoice is created. Otherwise the popup lets you create one with a click.
